THE
SPAULDING GROUP TO CONDUCT PERFORMANCE ATTRIBUTION SURVEY
Surveying Money Managers, Plan Sponsors, and Investment Consultants
Somerset, NJ – February 12, 2002. The Spaulding Group, Inc. (TSG) announced
today that its latest survey of the money management industry will address
performance attribution. So far, four firms
have signed on to cosponsor this event: SunGard
Investment Management Systems, StatPro,
Vestek, SAMS,
ORTEC International
and Financial Models.
"Performance attribution has become one of the hottest topics in performance
measurement," said TSG's president, David Spaulding. "In the past, we've
touched on this topic slightly in other research, but this survey will
focus 100% on this vital area of performance measurement."
Three distinct groups will be targeted: money managers, plan sponsors,
and investment consultants. Surveys will be posted on the firm's website
(www.SpauldingGrp.com) and can be e-mailed or faxed back. The surveys
will be posted in March. Results are expected to be available by June.
TSG will host luncheon presentations of the results in both the United
States and Europe.

TSG has surveyed the industry on a regular basis since 1993. Last year,
TSG focused on performance technology, with a survey to the users, followed
up with one to the vendors, both of which will be highlighted in an
upcoming Journal of Performance Measurement®
supplement.
