The Spaulding Group Creates Non-Profit Foundation
Will Foster Further Recognition of Investment Performance Professionals

Somerset, NJ – April 12, 2004. The Spaulding Group (TSG) announced today that they have formed a non-profit corporation, The Foundation of Investment Performance Professionals, which will focus on enhancing the investment performance measurement profession.

The first item on the foundation's agenda is to offer formal certification for those individuals involved with investment performance measurement. "We've seen this segment of the investment industry expand considerably over the past ten years, with the introduction of performance presentation standards (the AIMR-PPS® (Association for Investment Management and Research Performance Presentation Standards) and GIPS® (the Global Investment Performance Standards)), increased use of performance attribution and analysis tools, the growth of risk measurement and management tools, and broadening of the use of rates of returns" commented TSG's president and foundation trustee, David Spaulding. "It's important that those individuals who have developed the requisite skills and expertise get the attention they deserve."

The foundation will offer membership opportunities and other benefits to the investment industry. Anyone interested in learning more about the program should contact Patrick Fowler (732-873-5700; PFowler@SpauldingGrp.com).
