Somerset,
NJ - September 28, 2005. The Spaulding Group (TSG) announced today
that it will offer a two-day class to prepare individuals for the
CGIPS certification.
"We
are especially well-suited to conduct this training" said Patrick
Fowler, Senior Vice President, Operations. "After all, we were
the ones who came up with the idea for certification and formed a
"blue-ribbon committee" to develop such a program. When
we learned that the CFA Institute was going to offer a similar program,
we opted to cease our efforts and turn our work product over to them,
to help facilitate their process. After all, the industry doesn't
need two certifications."
The CFA Institute's CGIPS program is a two-exam process which will
be offered for the first time in March 2006. It is designed to recognize
those performance measurement professionals who have achieved a significant
body of knowledge and expertise in the areas of rates of return, attribution,
risk measurement, ethics, and, of course, the performance presentation
standards.
Classes are taught by Spaulding Group founder and president, David
Spaulding; and John Simpson, Vice President, West Coast Operations.
Training classes have been held throughout the United States, as well
as in Europe, Australia, South Africa, and the Middle East. In addition,
