THE
JOURNAL OF PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT
TO INITIATE ANNUAL AWARDS DINNER
"Dietz Awards" to Honor Best Articles
Somerset, NJ - October 4, 2001. The Spaulding Group,
Inc. announced today that they will hold their first annual Awards Dinner
for The Journal of Performance Measurement®
on Monday, December 3 in New York City. This dinner will celebrate the
publication reaching the five-year mark.
The
publication will inaugurate the annual Dietz Awards, to honor those
authors whose articles have been deemed best by the journal=s advisory
board. The awards are being named in honor of Peter O. Dietz, who passed
away 11 years ago and whose seminal work ("Pension Funds - Measuring
Investment Performance") was the basis for the Bank Administration
Institute's performance reporting standards ("Measuring the Investment
Performance of Pension Funds"). Mr. Dietz also developed formulas
for calculating rates of return that are still widely used today.
"I
had the opportunity to speak with Peter's widow, Betty, about our idea
and she enthusiastically agreed to allow us to use his name" said
David Spaulding, publisher of The
Journal of Performance Measurement and president of
The Spaulding Group.
