Co-Winner Honors

NJ November 7, 2003. The Spaulding Group, Inc. (TSG) announced
today the winners of the third annual Peter Dietz Award for excellence
in the contribution to the body of knowledge in performance measurement.
The recipients, whose articles appeared in The Journal of Performance
Measurement, are:
Stephen Campisi, "Long Term Risk Adjusted Attribution"
Jose Menchero (Thomson-Vestek), "Performance Attribution
for Short Positions"
The Awards will be presented Monday, December 8, 2003 at the DoubleTree
Guest Suites Hotel in New York City at the third annual Awards Dinner
for The
Journal of Performance Measurement.
The award is named for Peter O. Dietz, who passed away over 11 years
ago and whose seminal work, "Pension Funds-Measuring Investment
Performance," was the basis for the Bank Administration Institute's
performance reporting standards ("Measuring the Investment Performance
of Pension Funds"). Mr. Dietz also developed the well known Modified
Dietz Method and other formulas to calculate rates of return, that
are still widely used today.
The award's dinner will also celebrate the contributions of its editorial
advisory board, as well as the journal's seventh year of publishing.
