PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT FORUM

A Members Only Forum for Performance Measurement Professionals

The Advantages of The
Performance Measurement Forum

Intimate & Exclusive

The Performance Measurement Forum is the only organization of its kind. It provides investment industry professionals with a symposium designed to enable interaction with one another and with performance measurement experts on what has become one of the most important areas of money management. Forum members gain valuable insights into the thinking and current practices of other leading money management organizations. It also provides a facility for close interaction with leading industry experts.

Off the Back Burner

The growing demand for more accurate measures of performance, and the risks associated with them, as well as attribution analysis to better understand the sources of returns, has moved these issues from the back burner to the forefront of the money management industry. Current issues including the Association for Investment Management and Research's Performance Presentation Standards (AIMR-PPSŪ); , the new Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPSŪ);, verification issues, after-tax reporting, and risk, have all contributed to the current complexity of the measurement of returns.

Built for Members By Members

Constructed primarily from members' input, the forum is committed to keep pace with the dynamics of the industry and the requirements of the members. Topics, speakers and sessions are driven by survey feedback and conversations with members.

Forum Meetings

The forum meets four times each year globally: There are two European meetings and two North American meetings. These meetings are held in major cities. One and a half day sessions cover a variety of topics and issues relating to performance measurement, such as the GIPS and AIMR standards, performance attribution, after-tax performance, and risk measurement. These sessions are only open to forum members. The forum promotes the building of relationships and trust among our members. This allows for further interaction outside of the regular forum sessions, perhaps at regional workshop sessions, to address particular issues (for example, we are forming after-tax and attribution focus groups as a result of comments from the Boston, Barcelona and San Francisco meetings, with the expectation that we'll forward recommendations onto AIMR for consideration in the global performance presentation standards).

Only Group of its Kind

The Performance Measurement Forum is the only group of its kind facilitating one-on-one interaction between investment professionals and industry experts.

We held our first meeting in New York on December 3, 1998. Since then we have held meetings in Boston, Barcelona, San Francisco, Chicago, Los Angeles, London, Dublin, Rome and Munich. 2002 Meetings ae scheduled for May 16-17 in Boston, MA, June 12-13 in Oslo, Norway, November 13-14 in Vienna, Austria and November 18-19 in Chicago, IL.
