Stephen Campisi is Principal of Intuitive Performance Solutions, a consulting firm specializing in performance attribution and investment education. A portfolio manager with over twenty years of experience in the field of investment management, Steve's experience also includes developing investment strategy and analytics, oversight of money managers for insurance, pension and 401K portfolios, and the development of performance attribution systems to support both stock and bond portfolio management.

Since 1991 he has been Adjunct Professor of Finance for the Graduate School of Business of Western New England College, where he teaches classes in Investment Theory, Securities Analysis and Portfolio Management. He also taught for several years at the University of Connecticut.

Steve holds an MBA from the University of Connecticut and an MA in Music from Montclair State University. He studied flute with Mary Barto, formerly of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and with Renee Siebert, currently with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra.

He is a member of the Advisory Board of The Journal of Performance Measurement, which published his articles "Primer on Fixed Income Performance Attribution", "Creating and Managing Custom Benchmarks - A Practitioner's Guide" (abstracted in CFA Digest, February 2003), "The Case for Money-Weighted Performance Attribution," "Debunking the Interaction Myth" and "Long Term Risk Adjusted Performance Attribution" (abstracted in CFA Digest, August 2003 and for which he won the Peter Dietz award).

Steve is a frequent conference speaker on the topics of asset allocation, risk analysis and performance analysis. He is a past president of the Hartford CFA Society, and teaches several classes for their Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) review course. An active member of The CFA Institute for over a decade, Steve has served on their Practice Analysis and Professional Development Committees.
