Previously, Mr. Dumas was President at Manzanita Advisors, Inc., a financial derivatives and illiquid securities risk management services provider. Prior to his tenure at Manzanita, Mr. Dumas was Senior Vice President and Head of Quantitative Research and Analysis for Finance and Senior Director of Global Treasury Risk Management at State Street Corporation. He created valuation and risk measurement models for complex derivatives transactions, and models and policies to measure and manage corporate-wide interest rate and foreign exchange risks. Mr. Dumas was a member of the Corporation’s Asset-Liability Committee (ALCO) and Chair of the Conduit Pricing Committee.
Prior to joining State Street, Mr. Dumas was Senior Vice President and Chief Risk Officer at the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston. He was responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive processes for enterprise-wide risk management, and ensuring that risk limits were appropriate for the nature and complexity of the Bank’s business activities. Prior to that, Mr. Dumas was Director of Capital Markets Analytics at FleetBoston Financial where he headed the creation of market risk and credit exposure measurement models for capital markets activities, conducted stress tests and scenario analysis of risk exposures, and determined the credit reserve for global capital markets activities. He also established the bank’s model validation program and co-chaired the Corporation’s Valuation Committee.
Among his other professional activities, Mr. Dumas worked at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency where he was a principal contributor to supervisory policies for financial derivatives and other trading and risk management activities for national banks.
Mr. Dumas has published several articles on asset pricing and risk management practices, and he has been a frequent speaker on these topics. He is Regional Director for the Boston Chapter of the Professional Risk Managers’ International Association. Mr. Dumas holds a Ph.D. and Masters degrees in Economics and a Bachelors degree in Physics from the University of California at Santa Barbara. |
